FOOD COLLECTIONS 2024

Every year, usually at the end of November – early December, many FEBA Members organise national Food Collections. During this occasion, citizens are invited to make a gesture of solidarity by purchasing food when they are grocery shopping and donating it to the Food Banks.

Food Collections are only made possible by the collaboration of thousands of supermarkets and retailers and the mobilization of hundreds of thousands of volunteers and millions of citizens.

Items received in these campaigns significantly complement the warehouse stock and counteract the common scarcity of ambient staple goods, such as rice, flour, oil, or canned vegetables.

European Food Banks are a critical lifeline to promote access to food

A surge in the quantities of food requested in 2023 is noted among 89.7% of respondents located across Europe

European Food Banks are doing their best to help those in our societies struggling most to make ends meet. Nonetheless, they rely on support from external stakeholders to fulfill their mission, especially during challenging times.
